Take a 10 Minute Break When Fatigued
For me when I am super tired I can’t get anything done. Many of us will work ourselves into the ground and will inevitably hit a wall. Take a breather and walk around the office for a few minutes. If it’s nice out just go outside. Hang out by the water cooler, whatever works. The recharging of your batteries is well worth the 10 minutes.
Set Your Goals for The Day
Do this either first thing in the morning or do it before you leave at night for the next day. Being productive means setting up your day. Creating goals will allow you focus on the tasks at hand and will prevent distractions from creeping their way in. For me I do it before I leave for the day and plan out my tasks for the next. Easiest way is to just use your calendar, google, outlook, whichever.

Take Clear and Accurate Notes
When in a meeting don’t expect your brain to hold everything in. Also don’t expect your manager to remember everything as well. Your tasks are your responsibility and the leadership of others may not be present. When leaving a meeting make sure you know exactly what is expected and when it is expected by. Write it all down and refer as needed. Plus your organizational skills will make you look good in front of others.
Use a Planner
I know this will sound old school but using a physical planner to carry around really help keep your mind on track. I find that keep notes and memos on your mobile device doesn’t work well for me. By using pen and paper, your brain makes a much stronger connection to whatever it is that you need to get done. Check out this planner by “Little More”. I have been using one for about a year now and I really love it.
