Different natural fat-burning supplements work by speeding up the metabolism, lowering the body’s ability to absorb fat, or helping the body burn fat for energy. Many vendors of fat burning supplements advertise their products as miracle weight loss solutions. Many of these products tend to be ineffective or harmful, however. The fact that fat burning supplements aren’t regulated by the government only makes things worse. There is an alternative, however.
Many natural supplements are proven to burn fat, as well. You don’t need to turn to synthetic fat burners when natural supplements are safer. What follows are five of the most effective natural fat-burning supplements available today.

Caffeine
Caffeine is the natural stimulant found in green tea, coffee beans, and cocoa beans. It is the main active ingredient in use in many fat-burning supplements available commercially. Research shows that caffeine raises the body’s rate of metabolism by more than 15 percent over two hours after a dose. The body burns more fat for energy when it is stimulated with caffeine.
Studies show, however, that caffeine works better in lean people than in people who are obese. Caffeine only works when taken in moderate levels, as well. Using caffeine too often can lead to having the body grow tolerant to its effects. You can come by enough caffeine to raise your metabolism, simply drinking a few cups of coffee a day. Alternatively, if you don’t like coffee, you could take a supplement.
Green tea extract
Green tea extract is concentrated extract of green tea, commercially prepared in capsule or powder form. While green tea extract contains plenty of caffeine, it also contains the additional compound polyphenol epigallocatechin gallate. Both are powerful fat burners. Studies have found that a combination of these compounds burns fat 16 percent faster than placebos. You can come by these benefits with green tea extract, or by drinking 5 cups of green tea a day.

Protein powder
Protein powder is an excellent fat-burner. High levels of protein consumption can raise your body’s rate of metabolism, restrict your appetite, and help you maintain muscle mass that helps burn fat.
If you eat a protein-rich diet, you don’t need to take supplements. Many people, however, find it hard to include enough protein in their diets. For this reason, natural protein powders sourced from casein, soy or whey, are a good idea.
It’s best to let protein powders replace some of the snacks or other regular foods that you eat. About 50 grams of protein powder a day is all you need to boost your metabolism.
Water-soluble fiber
A normal diet contains both soluble fiber and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber can absorb water in the digestive system, and form a heavy gel. Studies show that soluble fiber can give you a sense of fullness, and help curb the appetite. Soluble fiber also helps slow down the rate at which calories are absorbed in the gut. While you can get enough fiber simply eating a normal diet, you may find it challenging if you prefer a different kind of diet. In this case, simply taking a spoonful of psyllium husk or another water-soluble fiber supplement is all you need to do.
Yohimbine extract
Yohimbine, which is the extract of the African yohimbine tree, usually finds use as an aphrodisiac. Yohimbine extract is also useful in weight loss plans, however. It is able to block the alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the body, making the body’s fat-burning adrenaline last longer.
A study performed on about two-dozen top soccer players found that two small doses of yohimbine each day helped them lose more than 2 percent of their body fat in no more than 3 weeks. Considering that athletes tend to have very little body fat to begin, the ability of yohimbine to hasten reduction is an impressive one.

Are natural fat-burning supplements a good idea?
Natural fat burning supplements are available at every pharmacy, and it’s easy to experiment with them. It’s important to remember, however, that these supplements aren’t tested by the FDA before they are sold. There have been cases were supplements have had to be pulled off the shelves because they were found to be contaminated, as well. As long as you make sure that you buy quality supplements, however, there is no reason why you shouldn’t try these products. They may be able to give your weight-loss plan the boost that it needs.
